Team info

Welcome to Winscombe Under 9s!

If you are aged 8 on 1st September 2017 (School Year 4) you are eligible for this age group. Why not come along, watch or have a go and join in the fun? This year we move away from Tag rugby and are now introducing tackling into games. It therefore important for player safety that coaches are given the opportunity to work with new players, Therefore we would suggest you make contact with the head coach and bring your child to a training session which are conducted throughout the season.

Our aim is to make Sunday mornings an enjoyable experience. Learning and playing the game of rugby is about having fun. All the Coaches try to ensure that each week the children learn about the game through enjoyable and different experiences, having fun and developing their technique.

You need boots with Rugby studs, plenty of layers in the colder weather (we cannot stress enough that a hat, gloves, and plenty of layers are absolutely essential when Winter kicks in) a drink, snack and plenty of enthusiasm.

In addition to the training sessions you will play friendly inter-club matches against other local clubs, both Home and Away (click on fixtures tab for more details).
